Nursery Admissions

Nothing can quite beat seeing the nursery in action for yourself. For this reason, we encourage all parents/carers, who are potentially interested in a place for their child, to arrange a visit to the nursery. Our manager will be happy to show you and your little one around and to answer any questions. You’ll soon see what a lovely warm, inviting environment it is and how happy the children are. If you’re still not sure, by all means, come for a second visit — choosing a nursery is an important decision after all.

To book a tour, please email us or call 020 8551 2577 (ask for our Manager). To enrol for a place, a registration form will need to be completed. We charge a £200 refundable deposit to keep a place and places are offered on a first come, first served basis.

When it’s nearly time to start at the nursery, children are invited to attend ‘settling in’ sessions, each of about 1 to 2 hours long. These are designed to help them settle in and some of these sessions can also be attended by a parent.

A Partnership with Parents

Study after study has shown that children’s early education is boosted when parents and childcare professionals work in partnership. Doing so gives nurseries and pre-schools much-needed additional information about a child and parents a greater overview on their child’s progress at the setting. It also ensures that any areas of difficulty are addressed early and that all parties are pulling in the same direction. Children will hugely benefit from this kind of partnership, so it is highly encouraged at Tic Toc Nursery.

Parent evenings are held twice each year, allowing parents/carers to discuss their child’s progress with his or her ‘Key Person’ at the nursery. ‘Stay and Play’ sessions during the year also allow parents to see, first-hand, how their child spends a typical day at the nursery. We encourage them to get involved in activities too — it’s a source of great insight.

Our aim is to continually improve and to do our very best for every child. It is therefore important to us that parents know we are here to support and listen to them — we are keen to hear their views and ideas. We are always available to speak with parents/carers if there are any concerns and also relish the chats that take place every day during pick-up or drop-off, when golden nuggets of information about a child can be shared. These help to build a more holistic view of every child and their individual needs.
